Artware is born from the meeting between illustrator Arnaud Pages and French fashion brand Hardcore Session.
The main idea behind this collaboration is to mix both graphic universes. Arnaud Pagès is painting directly on the jackets designed by Hardcore session. At first, this doesn't seem to be a innovative proposition as nowadays a lot of painters are working on caps, shoes, t-shirts or jackets. However, Artware's approach is closer to the world of art and the jackets were used as canvas. Both Arnaud Pages and Hardcore session shared the desire to product original art and to define a new way to show this kind of paintings, which truly made their project fresh and interesting.
It's a new meeting between fashion and art, and also an exploration of how painting can evolve outside of the traditional artistic scene.
« As an artist, my aim is to provide a « democratic » painting, that everybody can understand and appreciate, moved by emotion more than reflexion. Since several years, my work is taking this direction. To make a new link with simplicity and colours, and to avoid any conceptual art. » Arnaud Pages.
The exhibition will show 10 Hardcore Session jackets painted by Arnaud Pagès, as well as some t-shirts. A few recent canvas of the artist will be shown too.
Arnaud Pages will be flying over from France to meet the audience for the opening of the exhibition.
