About
78% is a young and vibrant brand inspired by street art and culture, music, Japanese design, Mediterranean temperament and the way "ordinary" people improvise to find practical solutions to everyday problems. 78% is here for the urban professionals with strong sense of individualism and a taste for enduring style and quality. Functionality, Quality and Individuality is what the brand aims for.
"78%" is originally a design manifest which was developed by Elad Klein, a talented artist, musician and designer who died young in an accident. In short - the manifest suggests that products should be designed with an international flaw that would affect the way users interact with them. "78%" is therefore named in memory of Elad, by bag designer, Shai Levy.
The Force behind 78%
Designer Shai Levy, was born in Israel. He studied product design in Jerusalem and Berlin before he started up a studio, specialized in designing technical backpacks for all sorts of outdoor activities.
"It seemed to me that not enough thought is being put into making bags for people who walk on concrete and breathe carbon-dioxide. We deserve more..."
And that makes Shai move from outdoor packs to urban bags for the professionals.
It is a refined, functional collection taking its inspiration from the classic satchel school bags. The bags are crafted from specially sourced Japanese cotton canvas and premium Italian cow hide using a special vegetable tanning method. Available in 3 sizes and various choices of colour.
