R-edition is a worldwide exclusive to kapok! 

 

R-edition is born from the meeting of a menswear enthusiast with more than 20-year experience in the clothing industry and the founder of the kapok boutiques, famous for their precise selection of casual yet elegant brands.

Both have welcomed the heritage trend that put comfort and construction at the forefront. But simply reproducing vintage clothes is not enough – we work, travel, have fun in different ways than 50 years ago and our clothes should also acknowledge these changes.

For the first capsule collection, R-edition has worked with archetypal shirts: a dress shirt, a button down, a safari, a military and a western shirt. They have improved the fit to be more comfortable and slimmed the body and raised the armholes to modernize the fit of the shirts.

R-edition has painstakingly researched materials and techniques to create the best fit and comfort for R-edition shirts. The shirt construction includes functional details that will reveal their utility after wearing the shirts over time. All details are functional, every stitch is necessary – R-edition look for fit and function, rather than embellishment and decoration.

Ultimately, they want their products to be well made, have a story to tell and be authentic: reflect their passion for the menswear tradition, but also their desire to create contemporary clothes that reflect their lifestyle. 

 

High quality shirt detailing

R-edition hand stitches all their buttons and have added a leather patch for reinforcement, and for avoiding irritation for those with sensitive skin. They split yoke cut in the bias which provides a neater look to their stripes and pattern shirts. The fabric used can stretch more length-wise, which allows more stretch in the shoulder, providing greater comfort in the range of motion. Also , inside the shirt, they have added a signature cream yoke to help support the shape of the back.

The shirts are reinforced with a leather patch at the side seam gussets to give it more strength and display a neater look when worn untucked. The detailing doesn’t end there as the last buttonhole has been placed horizontally, this is to help prevent the opening from gaping.
